Categories:
This Mistward armor guide is organized differently than the collection achievement screens in-game and the pages on the official wiki. I've grouped tasks into categories to make doing them a little easier, rather than grouping them by each piece of armor in the set. This will allow you to do all the champions one after another, all the masteries in order, all the insignias one after another, etc. To view the requirements for any given piece of armor in the set, you can view the specialization collection achievement for that item in-game (see graphic) or on the Mistward armor wiki page.
Champions:
Each champion below drops a collection item required for a piece of armor. The drop rate is 100%. You can view upcoming champion spawns at gw2timer.com.
- The Shatterer (drops Mistward Gloves Plate)
- Modniir Ulgoth (drops Mistward Pauldron Casing)
- Golem Mark II (drops Mistward Legging Panel)
- Taidha Covington (drops Mistward Coat Panel)
- Karka Queen (drops Mistward Boot Lining)
- Chak Gerent (drops Mistward Helm Casing)
Mobs:
These mobs drop a collection item required for a piece of armor. Based on my experience, it takes anywhere from 30 seconds to 20 minutes of killing these enemies for the collection item to drop.
- Bandit enemies (drop Mistward Pauldron Lining)
- Nightmare Court enemies (drop Mistward Gloves Lining)
- Flame Legion enemies (drop Mistward Coat Padding)
- Sons of Svanir enemies (drop Mistward Legging Lining)
- Inquest enemies (drop Mistward Boot Casing)
- Saurian enemies (drop Mistward Helm Lining)
Armor Sets:
You will need to unlock the skins for all pieces (except the head items) in the Scale, Barbaric, and Gladiator armor sets. They can be purchased on the Trading post.
- Scale Gauntlets
- Scale Boots
- Scale Coat
- Scale Legs
- Scale Pauldrons
- Barbaric Gloves
- Barbaric Boots
- Barbaric Coat
- Barbaric Legplates
- Barbaric Pauldrons
- Gladiator Gauntlets
- Gladiator Boots
- Gladiator Chestplate
- Gladiator Legplates
- Gladiator Pauldrons
Currencies for Insignias:
The following currencies are required for purchasing the insignias. You can view all (except the crystalline ore) in your inventory wallet. Crystalline ore can be viewed in your personal bank.
- Airship Parts x150 (for Mistward Pauldron Insignia)
- Geodes x150 (for Mistward Gloves Insignia)
- Ley Line Crystals x150 (for Mistward Coat Insignia)
- Lumps of Aurillium x150 (for Mistward Legging Insignia)
- Bandit Crests x150 (for Mistward Boot Insignia)
- Crystalline Ore x30 (for Mistward Helm Insignia)
Vendor Acceptance (Masteries):
Three vendors require mastery in order to purchase insignias from them (i.e., three insignias require a certain level of Heart of Maguuma mastery). If you need additional mastery XP in the Heart of Thorns maps, do the daily challenges (e.g., Salvage Pit, Shooting Galley, etc) and map events. Note that a large amount of XP comes from Heart of Thorns story missions, but only as a bonus the first time you complete those missions. After that, you won't get much XP from them.
- Itzel Language mastery (second mastery under Itzel Lore, required for Mistward Pauldron Insignia)
- Exalted Acceptance mastery (second mastery under Exalted Lore, required for Mistward Legging Insignia)
- Nuhoch Language mastery (third mastery under Nuhoch Lore, required for Mistward Coat Insignia)
Insignias:
These are purchased from vendors. Some vendors require mastery (see above).
- Mistward Pauldron Insignia (purchased from Itzel Mastery Vendor in Jaka Itzel, Verdant Brink)
- Mistward Gloves Insignia (purchased from one of four vendors in Dry Top)
- Mistward Coat Insignia (purchased from Nuhoch Mastery Vendor in Jaka Itzel, Verdant Brink)
- Mistward Legging Insignia (purchased from Exalted Mastery Vendor in Tarir, The Forgotten City, Auric Basin)
- Mistward Boot Insignia (purchased from one of five vendors in the Silverwastes)
- Mistward Helm Insignia (purchased from Crystalline Ore Collector in Mordremoth's Vantage, Dragon's Stand)
Mistward Headwrap
You will need all the other pieces in the Mistward armor set to complete the headwrap collection achievement.

very dank guide. thanks for posting
Seems that the Chak Gerent event ("King of the Jungle") is no longer as difficult as it once was. Gabe, Jed, and I were wandering around Tangled Depths getting hero points when we stumbled onto the event. The Chak Gerent had about 60% health, and we helped complete the event. After the event ends, there's a chest (more of an obelisk, really) that spawns. You'll receive the Mistward Helm Casing when you open it.
